The game that took my by surprise last year is The Riftbreaker. I believe its only on pc right now. Its part base building, part tower defense, part bullet hell. It has mods available, and the team has a pretty good roadmap of new features coming. Multiplayer and console versions are on the horizon. My description doesn’t do it justice, it was an absolute blast to play!
Also available on gamepass, if you have that.
I do I will have to give that a try today
So many games going now! Putting off buying a few that are tempting like Stranger of Paradise since busy with so many others now.
New ones I’m into -
Rune Factory 5 - Been waiting a long time for this. Luckily, I really haven’t seen to any big degree the issues this game is getting bashed for in reviews. And I think it is lovely, so colorful - truth is, less realistic graphics can sometimes capture my imagination better than hyper-realistic ones. Not to say it doesn’t have a few issues, furniture placement being the most annoying one so far for me, but it has all the gameplay fun and humor of 4. Biggest bash is also something they did in 4 - having a few romance candidates who are WAY too young (look and act like actual children), at the expense of leaving out a few older hotties.
Elex 2 - Embrace the jank! I love Piranha Bytes’ RPGs, have a big soft spot for Eurojank. Such a fun map to explore and loot… some people bashing the dialogue but I think it is mostly funny or appropriate though some things don’t make sense.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands - Started yesterday and loving so far. It is fun, and it is making me laugh. Silly and doesn’t take itself seriously, which is what I need sometimes.
Hope I get my Steam Deck next month. Getting tempted too, to get an Xbox Series S with one of the upspec gaming attachable screens, sort of make it a portable hybrid, which would give me the advantage of not having to do massive downloads on my slow home internet connection.
Sony insiders leaked that the details of their new subscription service will be announced as early as next week. If the tiers are what was leaked earlier, they’re going to have a tough go of it - lowest level is basically Plus but double the price, and the higher ones don’t seem like they can compete with GP unless you are big into retro stuff. That’s why I keep harping on trying to get Boundless on it there, could be an opportunity to benefit both sides.
I grabbed a copy of planet crafter through Steam. It just released EA 2 days ago and has been quite fun.
I tried this out last year and really enjoyed it. I will def be getting it too
the game one really should keep an eye out for is DERELICTS
I’ve been following them for over a year now and it is soon to be released.
this one is not ready yet but might be worth watching
I’m a switch fanboi now I love the portability
It’s like the world’s best ps vita. Aside from remote play ofc
Does anyone still play AC?
I play MHR and would play some Mario’s if anyones down.
I haven’t played MHR in a few months… would be nice to reconnect.
@HOST one of my all time favorite survival games.
and an early access done right. it mostly keeps improving
Unless you bought it on console. It’s been abandoned. I really enjoyed it, too.
Last I heard it was playable on console. All the updates they added after they stopped were not too exciting to the base game anyways.
Greatest game I ever played and still play. The shale textures are so pretty lol looks like you are using khaines tool belt mod (unless tool belt is bigger in vanilla been awhile since vanilla playthrough for me). Have you tried the wandering horde mods? I get roaming hordes of 50/60+ zombies it’s so epic!
@Redlotus definitely favorite survival tower defense style game.
TFP said once the PC version is finished they will be finishing console version that TellTale screwed up. As well as VR compatible in the future.
7 days to die is definitely a game I recommend to everyone with a PC.
Find this on itch, looks interesting.
Well i have fortresscraft evolved and satisfactory for that
