Please change the gleambow timers

Have you tried again today Suji?

I hopped on this morning and I can’t be certain as I don’t remember what my timers were last night but I think they have increased over time. An hour of hunting though and I am back to 5 seconds on level 1’s and about 20 seconds on level 2’s.

After 8hrs?
So Is this a one day per player event?

Did you read any of the previous posts? Im fine with balance. But the devs themselves confirmed that missing meteors should increase the timer again. I spent 3 hours missing EVERY SINGLE ONE. And still got 5s timers. Thats not balance. And its definitely not fun.

Multiple people in here and the other thread have confirmed the same problem.

Dont make personal attack that are unwarranted.

Aren’t you doing the same?

We know that the timer mechanic is to prevent people doing pretty good all the time, and let others stand a chance but it doesn’t make sense to keep people under 5s with no chance to get the timers back up

Sorry, but this quote just shows you don’t actually understand how gleambow works.

Meteors (can) trigger when a player enters the center of a region. They don’t just randomly fall whenever. Meteor timers are dependant on the planet timer PLUS the personal timer of the person triggering the meteor. If my timer is low, aka the 5 seconds timer AFTER it drops (not after i get to it) a casual player won’t be able to get it either. Me having low timers does not benefit anybody positively. In fact, me having low timers and giving up, only means less spawns, meaning less meteors for all players.

Besides, it’s a completely moot argument because the last 2 hours of my 3 hours failing, was spent in area’s completely devoid of any other players in those area’s. Still 5s timers.

Just came in to report that my PS4 character (I was on PC earlier when posting in this thread) is luckily ok, good timers so far this evening, whew… being VERY careful not to mess it up, waited til 10 sec on a Gleam and let the others go and did sac collecting.

I’ll check my PC one again Monday, see if the Boori ones may have reset by then.

Which is weird because I’ve been playing all day with my alt solo and my timers have never gone below 40s.

Only my main that was in a group is suffering the same fate as yours.

I reckon that might be the key. Because my hunter also got this after hunting in a group.

@Sujimichi88 - Were you ever close enough to get the “Lost” notification? I wonder if that is what is going on, I think that is the problem I had on Boori earlier… couldn’t get close enough to any of them to get that. I think when you get a “Lost” it goes back up, but if too short, might not be able to get those.

Very rarely. 2-3 times at best. Due to the PS4 rendering, i couldn’t even get close to the majority

Hmm, might be it then (might not be enough to offset the wins on the hunt)… if my PC character still has bad timers on Boori next week I’ll report. It does seem to be resetting for some people regardless, could be a bug in play for some though?

I think the point is, it’s unbalanced for some people, and perfectly fine for others. I think it’s ok for people to be disappointed when the event doesn’t seem to be running as smoothly as it could/should.

So I did try again with my main and the numbers went up a little bit

I had the luck of getting them close to me, but in a different situation there was no way I could get on time.

As a side note I’ts been around 12hrs since my timers went down to 5s and after all that time I only got an increase of 5s lol

Seems like five seconds is ridiculously low. Might as well just not spawn a meteor and add time onto the personal timer. There is something to be said though for limiting how much people can farm them. It must have taken an awful lot of meteors to get to a five second timer and there should be a limit to how much they can be farmed at their peak rate, much like mining resources only respawn after many hours.

Didn’t we have a “broken timers” issue last gleambow too?

Gleambow only lasts for two weeks, and in that two weeks people are encouraged to participate, and “farm” as many of them and their resources within the time frame. When a meteor spawns, it says ‘Gleambow racing’. It adds some energy and excitement to the event. Meteors spawn often, and more often and with higher loot counts the more people who are participating on the planet and in the region. You can spawn meteors constantly for yourself and others the more you participate, so every one benefits. It is not necessary to have a cool down timer on your participation ie. Like permanent in game resources.

Yes we discussed this around post 66 of this thread

The timers were broken, the were apparently much too long going to several minutes per gleambow.

The devs fixed them so that most players started seeing timers in the 0:10 to 1:30 range again.

Just curious, was there any feedback from the devs? Like is this how it will be for this even, will there be any changes? I know there was a post where a dev explained the timers, but did they say anything about maybe reseting them after 12/24h?

I like hunting alone some times, but now I just have to wait for groups (a lot more profitable, but, strange that this is my only option). And I don’t have skill points on all my alts, only 2, and today I will probably have the same issue on my second.

That was Suji’s original issue, he tried for hours to do the event alone but it was being a nuisance. I understand that the game in online, but there’s enough opportunity to play it solo as well, and people shouldn’t be penalised for wanting to do the event solo.
