This should have happened years ago. I don’t know why they decide to finally be “honest” now, all of a sudden.

The amount of negativity in this thread is beyond words. Without Monumental there would be no game at all. No one is thrilled about the lack of communication, but the game has lived beyond what all naysayers have projected as it’s end of life.
Just play the game or don’t, Monumental at least did more than James did in his last two years.

Like for real, they shouldn’t take over a game if they can’t handle valid criticism. If it scares them too much, maybe just don’t.
Read my comment history. You’ll see the slow decline. There was very little full negativity at the start, from most of us.
I’d like you to show me where the community had suuuch a baaad attitude that they finally decided to just stop communicating with us.

I was critical of one of the higher ups about a tone deaf announcement. I was banned from the game, kicked from the discord, and banned from the forums. I had to apologize to said person to be able to play again and comment on the forums. But the discord? I’ve used it maybe 7 times in the past 5 years. I vowed never to rejoin it and I still haven’t.
I’m at the point where I’m just getting on once or twice a week, to work on a reclaim and feed my planet portal. Once I run out of oort, if the game hasn’t moved in any meaningful way, I’ll be quitting for good.
June 5th marked my 6th year playing Boundless. I think I’ve given enough time and effort.

honestly, i dont understand all of this negative and sometimes even toxic post / comments, why all of this?
thanks to Monumental we still can play, at least those who really love this game and still enjoying it,
they still launching exos into night sky and hosting events, we still can rent a sov planets
you dont like the state of the game? just dont play, delete your account, delete forum account and stop spreading toxic fumes

ill be flagging every offensive/abusive post/comment along with asking for forum ban for those toxic once-Boundless-players
why? becouse offending and abusing Monumental you offending/abusing all who still playing Boundless

I agree. It makes me so sad to read all these negative comments. In my own experience, I never buy a game where the comments are full of the games dead stuff etc. If I’m like that, I can only assume there are many more like me.So all these negative comments only further exacerbate things. Logically speaking, the only way to get the results will be for a renewed interest in the public for Boundless, more people buying the game and playing. So, instead of griping and bemoaning, I choose instead to enjoy the game, enjoy the time spent with old friends and new ones. I choose to actively reach out to people to get the game and come in and play. I have even gone as far as buying the game for others and gifting it to them so they will give it a try. And I know that my efforts have been not only accepted but paid forward to others with the same gesture. By nature I am not some kind of spraying out sunshine and roses where ever I go, but it’s only logical to do so here to get the results I want. The results I want is for people to spark a renewed interest in this game and get the game gods attention

My favorite thing about this thread I started has been the relentless flagging and removal of my comments that are factually accurate and verifiable but that hurt people’s feelings. I get it: you don’t want the negativity. You want this to remain a bubble isolated from reality where you can just log on and enjoy the game as though it isn’t completely dead and without future. You also want to avoid negativity on this forum as it might deter potential new players from picking up the game despite there really not being any potential new players to deter.
So, as my final gift back to the community and to this game I’ve poured thousands and thousands of hours into, let’s just do this:
@jon-eric @monty1 @Tiggs. I’m not sure if this is a thing but, if it is, please irreversibly delete my characters, account, forum account and everything associated with this game.

I think the forums have been very lax for the most part. I know for myself as a mod I’ve let a lot of things go under the radar from a negativity and bash Monumental standpoint.
People aren’t blind, the player base is down and there haven’t been any updates. I don’t warrant that as a dead game, so much as an active game with a small community which there are millions of other games just like this.
Monumental has promised to keep the servers up. They have upgraded the servers. I know there hasn’t been a lot of public communication, maybe that’s for good reason, even if I personally have a large distaste for a lack of communication. There are efforts being made.
As I am sure you are aware, the flagging of posts is done by the community, not by Monumental. The acceptance of those flags is done by the moderators.
While we do not discuss why a post was removed, most posts that have been removed are pretty obvious why they were, and the creators of those posts most likely knew they were at risk when they wrote them.
Lastly, I agree with many negative things on the forums, I agree with many positive things on the forums, but to say the game has no future, to say people are stupid because they play the game or to knock Monumental over and over really serves no purpose.
