Ah it’s kind of you to say. I’m still planning on returning to Boundless in the future. A few months ago I actually put together a new base build on Beckon… but I miscalculated the beacon timing and it died while I was away
I get this wasnt you, but is that honestly what was going on?
People being banned from a sov (didnt know that was a thing either) and then losing the build? Also sounds as though they may not have had reclaim- or was that game bans it was referring to not perm removal
I know what he’s referring to and the person doing it is doing so just because they can. They invite you to build and then they throw a tantrum and kick you off. They’ve been banning multiple players and people associated with guilds they don’t like.
But eventually, they’ll be alone in the universe, because a lot of us have learned to move on without them.
I have taken a few breaks in my day from this game that I love, even given everything away before not expecting to come back, but I always come back. But all this is why I moved to a Sovereign and pretty much keep to myself nowadays . I think all this back and forth just is not worth it, I’ve learned it the hard way, had regrets along the way, seen it hurt friendships in this game. This is game, chill, enjoy the game, enjoy the people that play the game and what they produce or provide for it. It is what I try to do now everytime I log in and I have Boundless Entertainment from it.
It may have been because I built my base in the middle of the difficult-to-traverse Swiss cheese swamps of Kada I (though my settlement is long gone…RIP Ataraxia) or because I generally played solo, but aside from getting the occasional guild membership request from someone with an “edgy” name, I never ever encountered any negativity in this game. Anyone who built near me was very respectful, the visitors to my shops were friendly, nice people would throw me some neat freebies every now and then just for the heck of it, and players were understanding when I had to leave the game for a while to help family with health issues. The population for this game is small, but there are a lot of folks with big hearts traveling through our universe every day. That bullying and trolling were as widespread as I’ve been reading here seems unreal to me.
Hopefully Monumental’s clarification of the community rules will prove helpful in keeping everyone civil in-game.
Thank you. I haven’t returned, yet, although I’ve been thinking about it. The idea of collecting all of my blocks and items that were reclaimed and rebuilding everything from scratch seems daunting (especially the workshops, storage, and farms), but it might be nice to escape from reality for a while and create another cute little town filled with flower gardens and waterfalls.
Does this mean big plotted areas will need to come down?
As a new player, I hated running through hundreds, sometimes thousands of plots just to finally explore the planet. As much as I enjoyed seeing the builds, getting to an area where I can mine/gather resources. You can’t run fast or have a great grapple either so it’s a very daunting task.
One mall I did appreciate, I think it was called DK Mall, because it was in the sky not taking up valuable resources.
