Farming isn’t simple. It requires plots and proper set up and time. Gathering seeds was significantly faster and easier.
So add these conditions to your reasoning then, don’t just assume the worst case scenario pvp - which no one wants
Some plots and placing blocks = EZ
The problem is, I don’t think you are considering the degree of toxicity, Boundless in my book is by far the least toxic game that I have played. If you have not, I would suggest playing LoL or at least finding a way to observe low ELO chat and how team mates treat each other. I would share screenshots but I have a feeling @Havok40k may have a panic attack if I did that.
The fact of the matter is, PvP can attract very unsportsmanlike players because quite a few people who PvP do so for the wrong reasons.
So while yes, there are a few rotten eggs in boundless right now, however it is very very tame compared to what could come. I have an extremely thick skin due to LoL and EVE.
Boundless’s community for the most part (99%) is nice, not because of the gameplay, but because it’s an indie game with a small playerbase and no advertising (so is just reaching those passionate indie game people) when boundless gets bigger and has means to reach into other markets, then toxicity will come naturally, along with loads of other brilliant + nice people. Side note, I personally think LOL is toxic due to the money in it and it’s only type of gameplay is competitive (correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t mean just compete for prizes, but that the games are either win or lose)
Yeh I’ve played wow quite hardcore PvP, understand how gamers can be lol
Well I collected 50+ ss of grass today that I could of turned into a pie ingredient in less than an hour. But I’d need days weeks months of collecting to get the same from farming. Unless you have plots unlimited to make a huge farm for ingredients. So yes I’d rather farm 50ss of grass than have to build a farm just to make pies if farming isn’t a game mechanic I want to do
no pvp in this game pls… there are enough pvp games outside…
Theres enough PvP in the forums
Controlled PvP within plots would be cool, with some sort if warning that you’re entering a PvP area.
Other than that, no thank you! I don’t want to worry about being attacked while out shopping or being sniped while building I die often enough without you guys killing me too!!
Yet that’s exactly what id want
@morey523 Oh come on
I also want PVP so that the game has a little variety in the action and combat part. I would like to feel like a fighter again in the game instead of a pest control. And yes, it is how it feels to hunt meteorites when you have skill and equipment, as if you were exterminating a plague of bugs without intelligence, they are many yes, but they always move the same way. Having enemies that are intelligent and strong even if they are not many in number would change the perception of combat quite a bit. As long as the necessary combat system changes are not made and more content is added to the game in this line, we will continue to ask for a place for PVP very often, since we believe it is easier to program, although we may be wrong in this.
No plattform hunting? Sorry the idea is wrong, really wrong.
This is a fast way for collect oortstone
I think that I would like to use such a feature to evict inactive players who haven’t done anything for months with their shops…
If the portals fall short and you would like to have more capacity to save the fuel of the portal and not have to reload so often, I’m sorry, you’re playing the game wrong, xD
Sorry, I could not resist, where do I find that official manual of how to play this game correctly?
what about the inactive players that haven’t done anything for months with their empty plots?
Where do we draw the line?
I still say leave this for mods on private servers that dont have to touch the main universe. look at how much drama there could be by all the suggestions in this thread about adding pvp.
You dont lose anything by not adding the ability to kill another player, but there is a lot to lose by adding the ability to kill another when it doesnt exist today.
What benefit does adding this anti social behavior give?
I still like the idea of pvp on beacons. Pvp areas.
Using plotted areas for pvp is the best option. Warn people when entering a area marked with pvp. Get out your slingbow or turn around.
That works until the streets around your build in a settlement are changed to pvp. Then what is your option? Pay coin to warp from your home every time you leave or take a chance getting killed on the street?
We can only take a chance and find out what works. We will not grow without taking chances.
Being hesitant because of what would go wrong there will never be new content.
If someone puts a pvp road around me their mistake.
Who cares, if it’s opt-in? Walk on those roads all you want without being part of the pvp, or opt-in if you want. pvp beacons don’t have to be the end of the Boundless Universe as we know it.
Pvp beacons could be the beginning of the Boundless Universe. There are always ways to please both parties in this discussion. Some players want more action. Some want safty. It is only fair to compromise.
In the end this game has implemented combat.
If pvp was added we would have 1000s of new players I guarantee it.
