Still No Steam Support, Copied from steam!

That is a really good hypothesis although the behavior is still on full display on games that are fully offline. I do think you are on to something though.

I’ve seen similar behavior with fans of fiction authors but nothing close to gaming.

Definitely, and on this too, something else to throw in, that I’ve seen a few gaming authors talk about: games oftentimes meet our psychological needs better than real life. We crave a sense of progression, accomplishment, fairness, predictable rewards, a feeling of belonging and making an impact… digital realms can do that a lot better for many of us on a day to day basis. IRL, you can bust your tail, do everything right (or as best you can), still get fired, dumped, see others take credit for your work, fall behind despite every effort. So not too surprising to see a strong emotional investment in games we love.

That’s great, I appreciate that. Yes you cant be all over the place, however the one place that is most vital is steam. I mean the game is being sold on that platform, it should be the most active if not second to the forums, yet its dead last among other things.

This is why I ask of the community to band together and help.

I called the community toxic because the game needs players and it needs help, and the topic was taken off rails, however its not a topic to joke about. Its time for everyone here to start taking things seriously because the world that you love called boundless is fading away and it will be a shame to see it go when we all could have done something about it.

I know my name is trash in the community, I don’t care, I say what I feel is right and I speak from my heart. Yes this game has something in my heart, its the most played game i ever played.

I will say the truth and that is that development is slow, very slow and that is due to the lack of players. No one will admit this but its true.

All I want is just to try, maybe it works or maybe it doesn’t but the best part of all this is to know that we all tried our best to make something of boundless once again.

So for everyone here, hate me as much as you want, but if you love the game lets just try and do something positive.

Thank you for taking it seriously, I appreciate that.

There was another thread that touches on this, all be it the Devs had not touched on it, but I think it outlines everything you’re talking about.

The game is still in Beta, for starters. Meaning it’s constantly being developed. This is normal for smaller studios especially, games do stay in beta stage for years. A massive increase in player base just wouldn’t be possible right now, server status, increase in worlds etc etc etc. It would have to be phased in no doubt.

Your worries about steam are total dumbfounded though. (Vague comparison) But It’s like saying why don’t curry’s offer technical support for say an Apple Watch, they sell it in their shop… but they would always direct you back to Apple for technical support. :man_shrugging:t3:

I’m not going to lie that analogy makes no sense, the whole idea of steam forums was to make it easier for players/gamers to get in and out with questions, or support. Gamers are lazy in the general sense and to take the time to sign up to a forum and or open multiple windows takes a toll on most players.

Steam forums are also a good indication whether or not the game has an active community or not.

Also the game might be in beta to you, but its released as a full game to the public such as a live service, not a beta, so that excuse is null.

However I am tired of explaining myself over and over. If people cannot understand the importance of steam forums to the games life. I wish you all good luck!

I tried my best to help.

It’s not a case of you explaining yourself over and over. Everyone has heard you side of this. But everyone is entitled to an opinion. In my opinion, the fact that the game is multi platform, this forum works better for everyone. There is no harm in directing people to the forum… perhaps if wonderstruck were to work with steam and see if there was a quick easy way to log into this forum with your steam credentials? Or perhaps make it more easily accessible for steam players to have a direct link to here from the game in the steam store :man_shrugging:t3:

And ill explain once more, I’m not asking for people to leave the forums, but to only show “activeness”, if that’s even a word, on the steam forums. I never said you were not entitled to an opinion, just your opinion is stating that by being active on the steam forums its not a good idea, why not?

Is anyone selling chill shards?

Topic being diverted again.

Nah, just seeing if people can CHILL.

The steam forums leave out at least 50% of the playerbase. A lot of PC players also don’t like to post on steam. A lot of people access the forums on their phones, so it reaches more people.

I used to participate in the steam forums. At one point, I got doxxed and another time I was called a racist nazi communist. Those people got their accounts suspended, and I dont use Steam forums anymore.

This is boring.

As I explained, it’s nice to have everyone in one place. Rather than a handful here and a handful there. Practically everyone who plays the game is on this forum. It’s nice to have everyone here then for example (which has also been done) if the Devs want to ask the community as a collective what we think of something, most people are here to have input and reply to each other… kind of like what we are doing now.

Like If I want someone from in game I can contact them here (which I do most of the time seen as the PM system in game is slow af, but that’s a whole other thread).

This entire thread is amusing on so many levels.

I swear no one understands what im saying.

I do not want you to leave the forums only to be active or show activeness on the steam forums, only for a short time until we have increased the player population.

I never said to leave out 50% of people, or console players, only to “help” gain more players into the game by showing a sense of being active.

But diverting it to steam forums kind of takes away the purpose of this place. Kind of like the snowball effect. Start it over there and then Some players will only be there instead of here.

once again for you to understand, i never said you must leave, I asked for the steam forums to be more active to gain new players.

And your bright self has responded by saying everyone that plays the game is on the forums, um… the idea is to bring in new players.

All OP is asking is if we could spend like, 5 minutes a day to boost the percieved activity of Boundless on the steam forums… we could even help drive traffic back to these forums from steam. I think that’s reasonable, and productive.

Sadly its true that you are, you came here and diverted the topic and then went on to say that everyone that plays the game is on the forums, hence this thread is about gaining new players to boundless.
