Yeah see I remember ALL the times I felt encroached on and a lot of these ppl in this forum told me “Plot what you think youre gonna use or lose it” I followed that advise now suddenly Im a bad guy? Hows that work? /facepalm
this is where i completely agree with you.
I really wish development was more focused on Titans, T8s, temples, gear, etc. Maybe let this compactness thing sit on the back burner for awhile and consider other options, if needed.
The ONLY reason I agree to the non attachment roads is purely to capitulate not because I agree with it. Its merely me showing Im willing to bend on an issue im opposed to.
This community really makes no sense at all.
I constantly see topics about settlement issues and everyone wanting a solution as soon as possible, now that devs are focusing on this. Everyone is mad and want them to do something else.
I really feel sorry for the dev team having to deal with us.
Its a plot game with no referee you cant code that without killing the game. Get a GM to solve real time issues thats it
I think the folks from EA deserve to receive the things that were in their packages. There are things from the website & video = still missing too (if things have changed & those things won’t be coming…then this info needs to be removed/updated).
I think it’s futile for them to keep trying to micro-manage city building and plot wars without overhauling the whole system. I’m sure everyone would like it to be done with and fixed. That won’t happen with the way it is, nor with “compactness”. #truth
ok assume we have a gm and based on the rules your beacon is wrong. Now what?
Thats not an argument
This might be one of the toughest issues this wonderful game and community has faced. The devs have a staunch dilemma, which is why they seek our input. They are tasked with the impossible role of moderating what your idea of boundless is versus mine versus another’s.
I would have opposed this change if we had blueprinting where I could just up and move my settlement if I decided that the area around me is no longer desirable. I think this was always the more widely acceptable solution. Be since we don’t have that, and now there are those who “feel” encroached, including me, there has to be a measure that respects your time and effort and my time and effort in a way that keeps us investing in the game. The devs have to make money moving forward. Plots make them money in time dedication and addon purchases. This is the lesser of evils, as I see it, to make a compactness system. It mutually and equally contains all players within fair parameters. If you are negatively affected by this change, that stinks, but look to the future, it is fair for the potential thousands that may want to try this game.
I agree, this would be more beneficial to more people.
Well they need to rebrand then that we can agree on.
It won’t ever be fixed, not at this rate and with people fighting about wanting things to be as they are now and people wanting change
They asked for input…they are receiving input.
I dont mind change I just dont want thousands of hours of my hard work flushed down the toilet because someone on some planet got ppl mad. My road doesnt hurt or attach anyone unless they asked me to. Again I offered a solution im not just here moaning.
This, this right here. This is why the update makes sense and is needed. A city or grand city should achieve that on its own for sure, not achieved by connecting a massive long road from one side of the map to the other for prestige gain.
All other problems regarding plot placement fall under, be as creative and widespread as you want, just keep it more squared off. Long strings of “roads” or arms of plots going every which way need to be dialed in by just filling in the gaps, creating a more filled out plotted area.
To those who have crazy plots placement mixed right in with one or more other players and their existing plots make it hard to make your compact… That does suck, but If maxed for plots, just accept removing some issue causing plots, especially if they are empty, and use those regained plots to fill in chunks you can to maintain beacon compactness.
I noticed my own build falls into question looking at the beacon map, so I went out and widened everything and filled in any gaps I could. Just waiting on refresh of beacon web map to see if it’s ok now.
this is a fantasy roads never that ive ever seen had the prestige of a great city sorry thats misinformation.
My city was a city long before the road and Im still not a grand City nor do I care lol
I believe that Aenea had done this:
not correct her road bridged 2 places or muliple places not sure. All owned by her.
Surprisingly people can walk on the ground or swim across the water without the use of a road and still find help. The compass shows people and settlements without the need of a road. Somehow the ancient Boundless person exited the caves and leveled all without roads…
