It’s really quite simple, making high level players do two times as much work for the same result is not balanced well. So unless they are also planning on buffing exp gains in the areas that lack good exp, which is most of them, this is not very good.
Not everyone enjoys grinding out exp, and not everyone enjoys playing the areas of the game that give high amounts of exp. so it is extra punishing for thoses types of players, no complex numbers or data is needed to see that.
The data on it being a 50% cut in cubits per XP is readily available. Since James is saying that xp gain will increase because we won’t need alts to get more skill sheets anymore, my data is… I’ve never needed alts for more skill sheets.
I’m not sure what more data to provide when we don’t really know what data lead to this conclusion in the first place.
I’m all about data, and would love to help gather this, but I just don’t know what data could back up this side other than the 50% reduction.
Okay in my opinion if games are for the people to play then most of the player say one of the new features that are about to come out suck just don’t do it or take a poll and maybe do like 25% or 20% take out to make the most amount of people happy or increase xp in the harder areas to earn it again just my take on it
I just think people would want to keep the same cubit to XP ratio that we have now.
Right now you get 300 cubits for 200 000xp. I would want to keep that ratio. So if you need 6.7 times more XP to level up, I’d want 6.7 times cubits per level.
And on that point, I strongly disagree with what James say (if that’s really what he said) cause the only reason I have alts is for guild endeavor. I do almost everything with only one character (I use an alt for farming, but that gives almost no xp)
The data would likely just be a numbers sheet showing what you’d think the balance should be : level X, XP, cubits… Or how his current x% linear growth needs to be this other number % linear growth.
Anything that helps explain why the balance is off and what the new balance should be.
That won’t help anyone untll around the year 2024 at the rate things seem to be going, based on the fact the hunter creature that was kind of supposed to be out about a year ago, is still quite delayed.
The exp/cubit problem that this update will create can’t wait that long
The fact people need to grind for cubits because of an update is sad to me. If so many feel they need to do this how appealing will the game be for those who don’t play as much or new players when the update comes out?
In my situation I have a friend who doesn’t play as much and is primarily a builder and what that means is in order for them to continue their builds I’ll need to grind even more to make sure they have plots to finish it. I’m sure I’m not the only one in this situation.
I’m not sure I’m ready to continue playing a game where most of my time will have to be dedicated to grinding out for cubits. Doesn’t sound like fun to me what so ever.
I don’t mind that they reduce a bit the cubit farmed, but not by 50%… I would be fine with a 10-25% reduction, I have too many plots since I unplotted an old base recently
The thing I mostly hate is waitting for a good/big update, for some reason when those are about to happen I feel I don,t wanna play anymore before it hit… Like I don’t wanna do meteor cause I know it will be better with the patch, the same go for building that may be easier with more skills… the only thing I feel I won’t be affected too much is my mining build lol…
Ah my mistake, for some reason I thought the reworking of the skill tree meant alts would be combined to create one character that could eventually do everything. Looks like I got the wrong end of the stick.
I’ll delete my last post so as to not cause confusion.
