I don’t know who’s been telling you this, but you need to tell them to f**k off and ignore them. There is no set way to play the game. There are places like the farm school that show all the ways to farm. There are also people like myself who are only too willing to help people with crafting, projects, or even coin.
Umm…you don’t need them if they’re doing this. Again, ignore them. You’ll be better off.
There’s no one that is completely drama free. Drama is a part of daily life and inevitably their daily life can affect their gameplay and how they interact with people.
This is a violent threat to bodily harm and is not to be tolerated. Again, report it to support@playboundless.com
Add screenshots if possible.
Currently, the dev team consists of @monty1 and @Tiggs. Tiggs handles the moderation and support. With only 2 current devs, it can take up to week to get a response from support. Patience is a key. It will be addressed. Just sometimes takes time.
Sharing items is but one of a few issues. Perms for storage and shop stands is all well and good but switching reload between multiple times multiple alts especially over the course of a project for me is mind numbingly interesting, or also quickly as in instantly sharing coin w one alt to another.
Going between my money maker and farmer thanks to limited skillsets and the annoyance of multiple alts (personal opinion) is a mood buster turn off for me.
Skillsets from one character to another is yet even more a “fun” one.
Easy vs able to is a matter of player opinion and game play style.
these are as per the question my own turn offs, I respect the fact we all boundless differently as variety is the spice of life after all
I get that. But I was trying to be encouraging and give you some leeway. My own request got a quick response, but took a week to resolve because of my own foolishness. We love having you and the level of support you give.
If you follow someone around sucking up their drops when they do hunts without doing anything…And they ask you to stop…And you refuse…You are the one stalking people and commiting harrassment.
These days standard differs from past time standard. Back in 2020 it was normal that almost half the hunt group would make a grapple tower to hang on and literally do nothing or they would stand behind trees eating their dinner and also not participating. Wouldnt be even noobs that one drags along, it been actually players with level 300 and so. Back then there had not been any shaming towards the inactive players. At least not in all the time i had been participating hunts which was for a decent few months.
Also you cant tell me that someone that literally doesnt do anything but following along within a big group is harassing someone. If the person is friendly and doesnt impact the hunt with shutting meteors, bombing, or shoveling away the ground, then there is no harassment. Only resentment that the person is getting loot while not actively hunting down mobs. In the past more severe issues were complained about. These days your character just needs to look at the wrong oortian and its considered disturbing. Is that then the issue of the person looking, or of the one that gets looked at and gives it too much meaning?
Heres another good example. People having a different mindset than in the past. Example would be featherfalls “mostly afk farm”. While it was made for the purpose that theres a few generous people that do the dragging job and let other people have the loot for free, and those that benefitted hopefully do their part sometimes as well, it was never set as rule everyone using it shall have their turn as well with the dragging. That facility is now also already older and everything seemed fine for a while. But nowadays you hear people as well complaining how they do all the work and the others just standing there and one never sees them doing something for the others. Maybe people never spoke out what they thought in the past, or they werent bugged by it. It was even advertised that you can take as many alts there as you want. Rules didnt change. Just that people have now a different opinion.
Lets call it actively standing around or actively grappling the people are still often behind the screen and look around or walking towards the corpses. So technically not afk right? They just dont actively participate on the hunt - killing monsters. So its maybe a bit of a grey zone also to find out who actually is really afk. And how long afk is okay anyways? Shortly a toilet break? Paying attention to your kids? Theres a bunch of parents in boundless. I myself decided not to take part of hunts anymore as i couldnt be as active as i wanted and the afk times were more than i would have expected back then. But that was my personal decision. But i could also deal without hunt. Some people have to participate to keep their portals running. And solo hunt is just ineffective.
About feather falls, also complicated. Overall the devs are not against afk. Otherwise they would implement a timer to kick people after certain time. What theyre against is that people have some kind of action button trigger. Either programmed or handcrafted with things in real life. You shall be still at your screen and actively doing something not going for walks, cooking, doing the laundry or whatever. Thats what they dont like. Now featherfalls isnt botted nor does anything physical trigger the action button. Its more some kind of standing at the right spot at the right time. Be it coincidence or planned. Thats something they need to still give statement over. They didnt in the past when several people asked multiple times. And in my opinion its not rule breaking until they bring in afk timers. If i stand nearby a lake i might or might not also receive loot by luck and coincidence if the monsters like to spawn and take a dangerous bath. So its a grey zone until they give statement.
People standing there 24/7 (alt accounts, probably 2nd PC or Virtual machine running) not moving, doing absolutely nothing but collecting stuff while not actively playing.
It was related to in that post mentioned “mechanic” and botting itself. Fact is, there was no statement over the featherfalls facility. If you think youre right that afk itself is a rule breaking thing, then go ahead and try your luck with reporting everyone in game that you see standing around for at least 5 minutes. I would like to see what the devs answer is. Also, in that moment while we are here on the forums writing, we are also afk in game
Though, I’m done here writing. I had my say and would like to put my attention back onto other things
Ah yeah and to also bring something in here that turns me very much off, why dont we have glass doors?
No need to report that at this very moment as there is no full team working on the game yet to change anything in the code.
I will do so when that happens, don’t you worry about that.
AFK in any form like: block breaking, hunts, pure collecting while inactive, I will always be against.
So now you know why I wrote this stuff here. AFK turns me off having fun in Boundless.
What turns me off playing Boundless is the fact it’s been over a year since the acquisition and there still hasn’t been a single job posting nor a single development update.
the block farming with no needed input was frowned upon. The feather Falls was stated it took some input and was not considered 100% AFK. I know members of my guild that go there to pull down when they need something to break the monotony of things.
This. This is 100% it.
Like, back in the day roughly around when the game was first available, a friend got me into it and introduced everything to me. People built towers, there were no platform hunts, and people did what you mentioned - hung from towers or stood behind whatever they could. And there was really no issue.
And heck, even now, there are a handful of people that have the mindset of, ‘So long as people come, more loot for everyone.’ And that’s why some hunts are allowing alts, too, so long as one of the characters is at least active in the hunt - which is understandable. But that’s still some level of AFK.
So, even then, I fail to see why it becomes such a massive issue sometimes. Even when attending some hunts, if the hunt was full and someone who’d participate needed in, I’d dip if I need to. I have no issues with that. But, no need to be prickly about it.
Can you please provide link where Monumental has specifically stated this?
Edit: Yes, I saw the message by Tiggs. But, it goes back to how she mentioned botting, and that grey area of still running around collecting corpses. Where is that line drawn? What is not approved of? Etc.
This is kinda where I’m at. Like, where is that line drawn and where is that grey area? I feel like that information needs to be specified, because people don’t seem to entire understand that ‘AFK’ means ‘Away From Keyboard’. Meaning, how would they be running around and doing anything if they’re not even at their keyboard/controller. So, if someone is running around and just not shooting, is that still really going to be considered under ‘AFK’? That’s still a level of activity.
And even then, there are a handful of people that have alts and even separate accounts so they can have another characters standing off during a hunt while their main does the shooting. Even then, that’s still now technically breaching the previous point because that alt would likely be unmoving and not doing anything at all.
