How would you feel if the original set of planets came back?

like even the builds on therka and solum. they all come back, they are revived, new players can experience the majesty of the retro universe. even all the lighting!

You are assuming the data for the old planets is still around somewhere…

But I have no idea how I would feel since I was not around during EA…

It would be great, there were many nice builds. It would be interesting to explore it again. Before the great wipe I did more exploring than before and found many builds I’ve never seen before, I guess there’s still a bunch in the old universe that I haven’t seen.

It would be cool if they came back as exos, even without the buildings, just so everyone could see them.

Would have been a cool 1 yr anniversary event…

I highly doubt the data was stored all this time, considering just how big a single planet is, and how Exo data isn’t stored.

The world gen data (biomes and colors) probably is there

Earlier - before the Big Wipe - the Dev’s said they are gonna save the Old World data.
If they did that, I don’t know …
It is written in the stars whether we can ever go back to the Old Universe from EA with the beautiful planet Therka or Solum and the others ones.
Maybe once we can rent them as a Private planet …

And how will they look? I mean, lots of engine changes since so am sure it will look rather different!

I wasn’t here for the EA but i wouldn’t mind some new perm planets and them being the ones from EA

Maybe they’ll return them as permanent planets then. ;)c

Sure they would look different from the current engine settings.
But I am more than willing to pay a few coins to visit them as an EXO-planet :+1:
And if we ever might able to build over there, I will do some serious Terra-scaping and building on Therka at my previous build

Hey sorry we got cut off by server ocfos

Not to mention there were worlds before what we generally refer to as the EA worlds… back when the game was in Java and playable in a web browser O.o

i remember reading somewhere that there would be a fair bit of updating required to make the old worlds work on the current version of Boundless but i can’t seem to find it the quote =( …

Anyway, would be a fairly broken experience… anyone remember trying to find fibrous leaves in EA? Mine any gem other than ruby/diamond? Oh yeah! And you can’t forget about shadow orbs! only spawn-able on 2 worlds… with maybe 2 per world if you’re lucky… assuming their regeneration hasn’t been perpetually interrupted by players looking for them ><

all that said, i would still love to see them again… that nostalgia alone would be worth it… just the amount of work required to make them viable play areas seems impractical =(

The old game was written in Java?! (Or do you mean JavaScript?, nah wouldnt make sense lol)

The old old game was written in JavaScript and ran on your browser. It was fine. That was basically pre-EA.

How would I feel if the original set of planets came back? I assume you mean the pre-1.0 wipe, since there was a set of planets before that that I’d also like to see, but those planets weren’t even toruses (they had edges you could fall off of).

I’d feel the way I feel when my kids come for a visit. Happy to see them, wonderful to be with them, glad when they go home again.

You could fall off the edges? Really? Lol

Although I’d love to once again walk the streets of Elop Portas, I think some memories are best left supressed…

I died, I laughed, I returned home with all my items lost and kept playing.

I don’t remember the name of the world but on one of them (java world) I had built a road around the whole planet. Not in a straight line just around to interesting things. It was easy to do then because once you had 1 block of something you could hit the period key and have infinite blocks of that kind.

I would love to have the planets back. The color schemes were great.
