Portal fueling will eventually make me quit boundless

Not to derail this comment train but yeah this is a bit ridiculous. It is such a bummer to need a few signs for a project then gather all of the materials and realize that you have to have an hour and 10 minutes to label something. It would be different if it was an item that was giving you an in game advantage (such as foods and brews) but it’s a sign. A label.

Yeah, idk it was meant to be on t8 exoworlds back then. I guess this didnt make throught :man_shrugging:.

Yeah i think crafting time should be greatly reduced for everything. You already take the time to harvest the stuff. Waiting another couple hours to get the item you crafted is annoying.

Let’s not even talk about components like “fresh vital essence”… I’m pretty sure that in some cases, the craft-time is just idiotic.

Some people told me that time is a factor in how much things cost in the in-game economy, and so, if you changed crafting-times, you’d end-up with big impacts on the economy. I’d be curious to see to what extent this could be true.

I like the crafting times. I enjoy it as an idle machine management minigame.

Crafting times is one of my favourite things in Boundless <3 hahaha

Because let’s face it, hunting meteors isn’t that fun without an incentive. It would kill the only MMO aspect of this game.

Brown hunts are super fun :stuck_out_tongue:

Honestly, you could cut the rewards in half and I’d still do group hunts.

This item has multiple recipes though. You could spend 500 rough making those 50 compact and leaving you with a cost of about 6945 oort shards too.

If you stick with the assumption of waiting until you can mass craft, refined and deco versions each cost progressively less ofc. If you stick with single crafts they cost the same as a compact.

Mass extracting already lets you get more shards per rough so if they were going to do this I would personally just enable compact. There’s no additional need to fuel with the other products and any ‘fair’ way for someone who is single crafting up the chain provides too many layers of added value to a mass crafter.

This way when you get your rough oorts if you want them for fuel you can either extract or compact them, and no more layers of multiplication.

don’t know why you have such a problem keeping a couple of portals filled

oh wait…

do agree that more options would be helpful

To reach their own, there is lots of other items you get from hunting that are needed so your point it moot. I would still hunt cause I like hunting and the stuff you need for crafting warrants it… you have to mine eventing else why not that? And let’s be honest I know a bunch of you hardcore players have millions and it’s easy for you to say things like it’ll break the economy or ruin an MMO but will it really… no I don’t think so it’s not like I’m saying give us free stuff but to players who can’t Grind religiously (cause some of us have real jobs) I’d rather dig for my stuff then make another player richer like it’s the real world.

This point comes up every few months.
Personally, I would never hunt again if oort was mineable. It was super fun for about a year. Maybe less. It gets really stale really quickly.
As a side note, some of us have millions and a real job. Let’s not judge people’s play styles though, regardless…

Back on topic, I totally agree that portals need more slots to stack fuel. Oort generators or something similar to the way spark functions would be nice. And also a fix for amalgam…

Gleam club perk (or maybe just for everyone): central oort repository
All your fueled portals draw from the central oort repository. Still need oortshards to start your portal and can put oortshards into your portal, but whenever your central oort repo has oort in it, that gets used first to fuel the portals.
Central oort repository has many spaces to place oort shards. Fuel all your portals from 1 spot.
Central oort repository costs 1 shard/hr (or whatever is necessary for balance) even if you have 0 portals. Pay a little extra for the convenience.

The most poorly implemented update ever. They missed the mark bigtime but don’t wanna hear it :frowning:

Eventually there will be 35 shortcut portals :sob:

Also while I’m glad to hear about automation, IMO hunting and furniture are due for updates first

The cost of fueling portals is beyond my abilities.

Adrenaline hurts me.
Best I can farm is Roadrunners on t3 planets. Took me an hour of hunting those to get 18 rough oortstone.

As far as more fuel slots, I vote YES.

I been playing for over a year, and this month is the first month I ever fueled my own portal. I’ve never had my own before because of the damage adrenaline is to my physical health.

My personal HATE for fueling portals is not the frequency of refuling, but the adrenaline-pumping activity it is to get them.

I’m voting “yes” in empathy of portal maintenance needing more fuel slots. I cant imagine how much adrenaline has to flow to power those big hubs.

I am overwhelmingly grateful for all the people making portals available for me to use. Thank you all, past present and future!

Do you have any request or donation baskets out for rough oortstone and/or oort shards?
