Yes, that would be neat too, not just as ‘gates’ but for doors as well. The proportions for the existing doors can get weird for using in larger buildings. Castle gates and such.

We already do this for torches on slopes. The torch occupies the block above the slope but is offset down onto the slope (so hardly any of it is inside it’s own block).

But we only support offsets on simple meshes. Offsetting a multi-voxel sign would be much more complicated. (And I don’t believe any of the offset meshes have player collision.)

Hello guys, it’s been a while since I’ve updated with concept art. For the past few weeks I’ve been working more on the decorative pole system which had eventually narrowed down to four distinct themes based on the material they were constructed of. You can use them to make a fence. It’s purely cosmetic though…the creatures are able to come inside.

Or a second set of poles/beams that go along the edges of the voxels would work. They could be used as trim on full blocks, and would be usable with the current doors.

Yeah, that’s a good point. Can creatures walk past the pole if it’s up against a block?

I can see use cases for both centered poles and edge aligned poles.

The centered poles offer new aesthetic possibilities in builds where previously you were limited to spark link.

The edge aligned poles play nicely with existing meshes like doors and signs which are also edge aligned.

This is a conundrum! I can see this coming up more and more as mesh decos get added and the combinatorial matrix grows.

Added “Block Placement Repeat Delay” which is accessed via the settings menu. The option inserts an additional pause between the first action and subsequent actions when a block placement or chisel action is held down. This option can be set to “None” to replicate the previous full speed placement behaviour.

Yes it could be - but it’s not enabled by default as “you nerfed my mining speed” is a concern.
