Just as a note…
A lot of folks want additional crafts added to the game. Means to make decorations and other items.
The current crafting screens are bloated and difficult to use. Add 40 recipes to them and they would be even more difficult.
I have been wondering if a crafting update would move recipes to a different system that could break them up better and allow for a new interface.
Once implemented adding additional decorative items and furniture would be easier since they could build the new system with the notion of scale in mind allowing it to handle the added recipes.
To that end, if my current workbenches were less useful but it meant the system allowed for growth I would be all for it.

Would be nice to have some sort of cosmetic override with items, I’ll like to walk around with the gem sword and shield but for it to look like a wooden sword and shield

Well I can dream.
The artwork of the weapons and shields made we want to display some weapons around my workshop…but how?
For weapons I thought an Umbris axe and rift axe looked good.
They are kind of small on a shelf.
I couldn’t find a way to put them on a plinth. What are plinths for?
All I could find was to put them on a shop stand? And it still wouldn’t display unless I assigned it a price 
Are there any better ways of making a weapons display?

You can also stick a glass block over the shop stand with the weapon in it. It makes it look sort of like a display case

or a sign module if you don’t want the red cloth showing.

Yeah put it for sale. And put a glass block on top. And use module signs to surround the shop stand and one on top of the glass. That makes a pretty good display.
Make it 1 stand. Or display multiple items putting shop stands together.
