I’m l little bummed about the new emoji style. It just dosnt fit with the look of the game and I think it’s a big mistake.
I have a fear that overnight our beautiful universe is going to all of a sudden get plastered with tacky little yellow faces.
I think we would have been better served with new boundless style uniq to the game emojis.
I have been on the fence about things they have added to the game in the past but this is the first time I have actively disliked an update.

We are getting a great reclaim system that took months to code. That’s awsom and totally improves the game. Emojis probably took like two days to add and look bad.

noone said they are all working on the same update? i’m pretty sure update jobs gets given across the developers, i find it awesome and i have been waiting for this to be honest
also its fine that you don’t like it , not everyone has to like the same content that’s being released, other then that we just have to accept the changes and see the outcome

for me that’s farming i like it being added for others but i don’t use it myself , i have not placed 1 seed nothing because it does not give any value to my gameplay

I’m also extremely sad and have the emoji blues, simply because people somehow only wanna see the negatives without seeing the positives too. Let the devs release this and we will see how it goes…
People asked for more things to be added to GC, well here we are. And am 100% positive that this is just the beginning that next up are specially made emojis for the game and that in-game icons will be added too, just needs more time than the standard emojis they added so far.
Patience and let’s just enjoy the fact we are still alive and are getting new updates at all!

I built my farms used them for a month and now they are just part of the decorations lol.
Also in regards to the op I remember people saying that shop scanner was the worst thing ever and the game was going to be ruined because of it

I mean this could be a door way to an amazing sticker system. I could see placing cracks on walls and racing stripes to ships.

I kinda feel the same, but it can bring a totally new type of city build. Something like high tech city vibe which is not bad at all.
I think we will not see them everywhere aswell.
The future will only tell us what eill happen with this.
On the other hand i start to starve from some actually gameplay news.
The glass pane is neat stuff but it is something you play with 5 min and its done.

Basically what Gorilla said. I don’t think we’ll see the emojis everywhere and, quite frankly, I like them. That said, I’m just really starved for Boundless news.

3x3 and 2x2 glyphs, GUI icons and Boundless items (creatures, tools, items, foods, etc) will also be added to the rich-text system. We did the emojis first because they’re low-hanging fruit (and they were also requested regularly by players).
Some players can make ugly stuff (as before), some players will make cool stuff (as before).
I’m looking forward to the cool stuff.
I think some of the emojis look super cool on the stone signs.

People were deadset against Creative Mode too, what a waste of resources I heard but it’s all a part of getting rental planets out there!
Getting nice SVG icons on signs is just the start of more. We might even be able to design our own and upload them and then later on the same system can be used for the stickers they’ve talked about before…

Sure lets release it because we never have any issues with players being angry if they try to change something once it is released. Lets not make sure it is a good idea before we add it.
