Some solid and much needed changes here! I view this as an absolute win!

Is there a chance we could get a remote beacon removal option? I’m not sure about how much benefit is gained vs. development time to add it, but it seemed like a cool option for me atm

Updated OP with details of 241.1 fixed.

Some of the issues require a client update. This needs to be built and sent to PlayStation for approval. This could take up to 8 hours. Hopefully faster. We will need a brief downtime to deploy once approved.

Thanks for adjusting spark

While mining, put down a new beacon and store your stuff in it. Continue mining. Return home. After 2 hours, remote remove the beacon and get all your loot delivered to you.

I think that’s to easy to exploit.

Sounds like FedEx delivery lol…

Seems like an exploit to me… not sure what can be done (other than monitoring each reclaim from the mining worlds by the Devs and DELETE any players reclaim caught abusing this!!!) Without causing dire issues to the entire reclaim system

I did reclaim one old beacon in Shedu Tier and I think planet crashed when it got to beacon

yes Shedu Tier is down. Looks like the bug is still ongoing then.
Limited T6 travel for now

It’s back up

Can’t you just delete a beacon before you return home anyway?

A beacon has to be two hours old to be deleted. In theory if you arrive to mine and place a beacon and then mine for two hours, then yes you can reclaim the beacon before you leave. If you place a beacon mine for an hour and then leave. The system would require you to go back to the beacon in order to reclaim it. Is this enough of obstacle to curtail the exploit James was worried about? We shall see. He does not want this to turn into cloud storage for mining.

I think this might be more of a cloud backpack. 2 hours is likely enough for most players. I think players going out for large amounts of crafting blocks (sand, gravel, tree trunks etc) will absolutely use it. And maybe that is acceptable.

It still much almost no different to warp back at home then comeback.

The only issue i see from this is that it’s not looking good gameplay wise. Like item vanishes somewhere then you recall them back.

I still do not see the exploit part of it, maybe some one can enlight me.

To be honest, the magic diaper (backpack) doesnt really seem much different. This just expands on that concept. I agree with you though. I am not sure i see where the problem is.

Yes it will be interesting to see if people really decide to abuse this and just nerf the feature for everyone in a few months. That seems to be the consistent theme of excessive exploit or use of something just resulting in everyone getting hurt in the long run.

Personally I would prefer they just track the amount of reclaims and anyone that abuses it loses the ability permanently. We needed much more direct blocking or repercussions to those that abused all these systems versus a whole community being hit by it.

Is that permanently in the same way as people say “banned” when they mean temporarily suspended or is this seriously meant to say permanently?

Tad harsh tho huh? Someone using an in-game system in a way people do not like and boom, sorry, you can never ever use this again! Wanna move in the future? Tough! Forget to fuel your beacon? Byebye mats!

Am all for first checking to see if people abuse it as badly as some always seem to think before trying to solve it, but to track the amount of reclaims and if it goes past a certain, unknown to us, threshold and you lose the ability forever is not a solution, that is how people quit a game, especially if they never knew it was not allowed or wanted behaviour…

Is it beneficial to sell spark on stands? Or to stay with coal?
